Government

The government of the Republic of Azerbaijan is organized based on the principles of separation of power.

The legislative power of the Republic of Azerbaijan is held by the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The Milli Majlis has 125 deputies. The deputies of Milli Majlis are elected on the basis of a majority system, and general, equal, and direct elections by free, private, and secret ballots.

The President of the Republic of Azerbaijan is the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces. The President forms the President Administration and appoints its head to establish the necessary conditions for implementing the constitutional authorities. The executive power is administered by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
